I Partner With Talented People
Already Building Something Real.
I run a marketing agency in Sacramento. The best collaborations I've ever had started with a random conversation.
In 2015, I started HM Marketing with one goal: build something on my own terms. Since then, I've worked with local businesses across Sacramento and beyond, and built a small circle of talented people who work with me on their own terms too. No org charts, no permission slips. Just people with real skills doing real work and splitting the upside. If you've got a craft, an audience, or a corner of the world you know really well, there's probably a way for us to build something together.

Independent Work, Real Partnership
Most of the people I collaborate with run their own thing. Here's what that looks like in practice.
- – Fixed hours, fixed pay
- – One source of income
- – Raises on someone else's timeline
- – Income has a ceiling
- – PTO to take time off
- – Your schedule isn't yours
- ✓ You set your own hours
- ✓ Multiple income streams
- ✓ You grow by landing clients
- ✓ No ceiling on what you earn
- ✓ Flexibility is built in
- ✓ You work when it works for you
When we work together, you're an independent partner, not an employee. You bring your skill. I bring the clients, the infrastructure, and the pipeline. You invoice. I pay. We both win when the work is good.
What a Partnership Could Look Like
Tap any card to see what the numbers look like.
Bring your creative voice to local brands. Build content, grow real audiences, and become the person a business can't imagine going without.
If you write well, businesses will pay well. Blog posts, captions, emails, web copy. Say what they mean better than they can.
HM Marketing handles the build. You make the introduction and earn the commission. Or build them yourself and keep the client.
Logos, ads, social graphics, print. If you have the eye, there's constant demand from small business clients who need someone with taste.
You don't have to do the work yourself. Know a business that needs help? Make the introduction. We handle the rest and split the upside.
Got an idea, a niche, or an audience you've already built? Let's figure out how to turn it into a real revenue stream together.
Some People I've Built With
Different paths, different lives. All doing it on their own terms.
Elisa graduated from Sacramento State and decided pretty quickly that a standard entry-level job wasn't the move. She manages social media for local businesses, helps connect new clients with HM Marketing, and has built real recurring income on her own schedule. She didn't wait for the right opportunity to come along. She went out and created one.
Janae has two kids and a life that needs flexibility built in. She manages social media for an organization she genuinely loves, creating content that actually means something to her. Beyond that, she and Greg are co-building a project together, turning a shared interest into a real revenue stream. The work is flexible. The income is real.
Gabbi needed work that could move with her life, not compete with it. She manages social media for local businesses, builds their online presence, and earns real income doing something she's genuinely good at. For Gabbi, this isn't a side project. It's just how she works.
Things I'm Building

Starting Your Own Thing Is Simpler Than It Sounds
You don't need a lawyer or a fancy office. Here's the whole thing.
Choose a Name and File Your DBA
A DBA (Doing Business As) lets you operate under a business name without formally incorporating. It's the fastest, cheapest way to make it official. Pick something that reflects what you do, file with your county, and you're in business. Costs about $25–40 and takes a few days.
Open a Free Business Bank Account
Keep your business money separate from day one. It makes taxes easier, looks more professional, and protects you. Novo is a free business checking account built for freelancers and small businesses. Takes about 10 minutes to open online.
Land Your First Client
Your first client is almost always someone already in your world. Someone who knows you, trusts you, or is one connection away. You don't need a website or a logo yet. You need one person who says yes. That's a conversation Greg is happy to help start.
Get a Free EIN
Keeps your SSN private and makes you look more established. Free from the IRS, takes 5 minutes online.
